Prifenicol 4%
Description
A unique antimicrobial agent belonging to the phenicol group possessing reduced side effects but with a high bactericidal activity against many strains of pathogenic bacteria. It inhibits the microbial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit of the 70S ribosome and impairing peptidyl transferase activity. It is highly effective against a wide range of common systemic bacterial infections in livestock animals.
Indication
For the prevention and treatment of swine respiratory diseases caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, Pastuerella multocida, Streptococcus suis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Haemophilus parasuis and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae as well as treatment against Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD), Coryza and Salmonellosis in poultry.
